    Morning: We’ll begin our journey early, driving through scenic valleys and winding mountain roads until we reach the charming village of Theth. Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking views and opportunities to take stunning photos. Explore Theth Village: Walk through stone-paved paths, visit the iconic Lock-in Tower, and the beautiful Theth Church, surrounded by majestic peaks. Hike to the Blue Eye: Hike through lush forests to the magical Blue Eye of Theth — a deep turquoise natural pool perfect for relaxing and refreshing. Grunas Waterfall: We’ll also visit the stunning Grunas Waterfall, a hidden gem among cliffs and a perfect photo spot. Local Flavors: Enjoy a traditional Albanian lunch at a cozy guesthouse or picnic in nature, featuring fresh, local ingredients.     Grunasi Waterfall

    Trail Overview: Starting Point: Theth village center Distance: Approximately 2.5 kilometers one-way Duration: 45 minutes each way Elevation Gain: Around 200 meters Difficulty: Easy to moderate Trail Description: The hike begins in Theth and follows a well-marked path along the Thethi River. You'll cross a small red bridge and pass through lush forests and open meadows, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The trail is relatively gentle, making it accessible to most hikers. Grunas Waterfall: Upon reaching the waterfall, you'll be greeted by a 30m cascade plunging into a crystal-clear pool, surrounded by rugged limestone cliffs and verdant greenery. The area is perfect for nature lovers and photographers. While swimming is not recommended due to the cold water, the mist from the waterfall provides a refreshing experience on warm days. Tips: Footwear: Wear comfortable hiking shoes with good grip. Supplies: Bring water, snacks, and sunscreen.

    Blue Eye of Theth

    Trail Overview Starting Point: Nderlysaj village Distance: ~5.8 km (round trip) Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours total Difficulty: Moderate, with a short but steady uphill section Trail Description The trail begins in the picturesque village of Nderlysaj and follows a well-trodden path through lush forest and over wooden bridges. The first part of the route is relatively flat, winding alongside streams and small pools. After about 30 minutes, the trail climbs steadily for another 30–45 minutes through shaded woodland until it reaches the Blue Eye. At the Blue Eye At the end of the trail, you’ll discover a deep, vibrant blue spring set in a rocky basin. Fed by underground water, the Blue Eye is stunningly clear and cold year-round. Brave visitors often take a dip, though the water is near freezing. Tips: Footwear: Wear comfortable hiking shoes with good grip. Supplies: Bring water, snacks, and sunscreen.

    Valbona - Teth - Hiking Trail

    Morning Hike: We’ll ascend gradually through lush forests, wildflower meadows, and rugged trails. As we climb higher, the views open up to breathtaking panoramas of the Albanian Alps. Reaching the top of Valbona Pass (at about 1,800 meters) is a true highlight — a perfect reward of sweeping valleys, jagged peaks, and endless skies. Rest and Take It All In: At the summit, we’ll take a well-deserved break, enjoying the incredible scenery and snapping unforgettable photos. This is the heart of the Accursed Mountains — raw, wild, and spectacular. Descent to Theth: After soaking in the views, we’ll make our way back down to Theth, passing through peaceful landscapes and traditional shepherd paths. Return to Tirana: Once back in the village, we’ll gather our things and start our journey toward Shkodra. Relax and enjoy the drive as we pass through Albania’s stunning countryside, carrying the spirit of the mountains with us.

    If you have just one hour in Shkodra city centre, start with a stroll along Rruga Kolë Idromeno, the main pedestrian street. It's lined with colorful buildings, cafes, and shops, perfect for soaking up the local vibe. Stop by the Ebu Beker Mosque for a quick look at its striking architecture, then head to the Marubi National Museum of Photography nearby for a glimpse into Albania’s visual history. If time allows, pop into St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a beautiful Catholic church just a few minutes’ walk away. End with a quick coffee at a local café—Shkodra's café culture is not to be missed!
