This 3–day safari combines two of Uganda’s most remarkable wildlife experiences in one trip. Unlike standard itineraries, it offers a chance to track the endangered rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on the way to Murchison Falls, ensuring you see the “Big Five” within a short safari.

At Murchison Falls National Park, you will experience the powerful Nile River squeezing through the world’s narrowest gorge, enjoy an early morning game drive with chances of spotting lions, elephants, giraffes, and more, followed by a scenic boat cruise to the base of the falls, where crocodiles and hippos thrive.

The combination of rhino tracking, game viewing, river adventure, and the breathtaking Murchison Falls makes this safari one of the most unique and memorable short trips in Uganda.

    Day 1

    TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK VIA ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

    After an early breakfast, you will be briefed by the guide about the 3 days safari. You will then set off from your hotel as you embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will pass through Luwero town before having a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Upon arrival, you will meet the site guide and get a briefing before heading to the bush in search of the rhinos. The tracking will take approximately 3 hours. Return and have lunch before proceeding with our journey to Masindi town.

    Murchison Falls

    You will proceed to the park and visit the top of the falls. This site gives spectacular views of some parts of the park as well as Murchison falls. You will take photos and proceed to the lodge for check-in, relaxation and overnight.

    GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE

    Murchison Falls National Park

    Wake up early, have breakfast and set off by 6:00am for the game drive. The drive gives possibilities of catching the early risers and big cats in action before they retire to their havens. Other animals you will see during the drive include Lake Chad buffaloes, African elephants, Lelwel’s hartebeest, Nubian giraffes, oribis among other species. Common bird species include the Goliath heron, African skimmer and the Red-throated bee eater. Head to the lodge for lunch and to relax. Shortly after lunch head for a launch cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the falls. This water safari will expose you to schools of hippos, Nile crocodile busking by the river side and different bird species and other wildlife drinking water at the shores. Depending on the fatigue, you can choose to head back to the lodge for relaxation or continue with a short game drive.

    TRANSFER TO KAMPALA

    Murchison Falls National Park

    Wake up and have breakfast at leisure. Shortly check-out from the lodge. Depending on the time of your flight, you can choose to do your last game drive before exiting the park. Your journey to Kampala will take approximately 6 hours. You will have lunch at Masindi Town before you embark on your journey to Kampala or Entebbe.
