La Paz, Sajama National Park and the amazing Uyuni salt flats

The Sajama National Park includes geological natural wonders like volcanoes, diverse organisms, and thermal springs, and also cultural wonders such as ancient burial buildings, cave paintings, and colonial architecture and art. There are numerous geysers and hot springs which are about an hour walk from the village of Sajama.
Plants and animals must be able to handle high altitudes with less available oxygen, cold nightly temperatures and frosts well into the spring, little shade or protection from the elements, and arid, dry conditions.
Uyuni salt flat, at nearly 12,000 feet above sea level, the Salar dazzles the eye and plays optical tricks on you with what look like white hexagonal tiles of salt that seem to go on forever. In winter (our summer), you can drive across it. In summer (our winter), the Salar becomes a giant puddle, and the reflection of sky and clouds seems to reflect the entire world.

Pick up from hotel at 07.30 hours, the adventure starts leaving to La Paz city toward the mystic “Altiplano Sur”, the first stop will be in the funeral towers (an small archeological site), which probably belonged to the civilization “Urus”.
You continue toward the Sajama National Park (4200), there are some optional hikes suggested by the guide, after a little rest, the next place to visit are the Geysers and then, time to relax into the hot springs, watching an amazing sunset, the golden and blue colors over the majestic 6k Sajama volcano.
An early start and back to the road, crossing Coipasa Salt Flats, on the way you’ll see some very ancient villages as Pampa Ullagas, which according of the British investigator, could be the lost city “Atlántida”. The adventure continues in the way to Uyuni salt flats, just before the end of the afternoon you’ll have a stop at the mysterious town “Alcaya” where fish men (culture Wankarani) lived. Also you’ll have the chance to watch the stunning sunset on the salt flats, an incomparable experience. Ending the day a yummy dinner awaits for you at the accommodation, so, optionally, after dinner it’s go for a walk, to see the stars (stargazing on the salt flats) taking pictures that will make you think you are in a science fiction movie.
After breakfast, you start the adventure in the amazing Uyuni salt flat, where you’ll have the time to take the craziest photos ever. A delicious lunch in the middle of a white desert will give you energy for the next stop.
In the middle of the Salt Flats, you will find a interesting place, Incahuasi Island, where there are rocks formations, giant’s cactus and more. You have enough time to walk.
You’ll continue your adventure visiting Colchani craft market, where you can find a crazy souvernis made with salt and the overnight will be in Uyuni town.
For today, you will have a nice drive, heading to “Eduardo Avaroa” National Park a vast area where you’ll see colorful volcanoes, the ethereal “Siloli desert”, and the valley of rocks. Today expect for a long drive an early start, but full of adventures. The RED lake characterized by thousands of flamingos, the famous “stone tree”, geysers, which is the highest point on the trip (4900mts). You will have time to enjoy the hot springs (40°), and have one more delicious lunch, then, you’ll enjoy the views in Salvador Dali desert and its sceneries, if you return to Uyuni, you’ll do an easy hike in the newest touristic attraction, the black lake (Catal). Or the option for Chile (border crossing to San Pedro de Atacama).
