Memories Passage is one of the oldest alleyways in Shinjuku Golden Gai. It is approximately 50-60 meters long and 2-3 meters wide. The view of this street is a must-see, as it is steeped in the history of Golden Gai.

The wooden row houses built after the war still remain, and nearly 300 restaurants and bars are crammed into an area of approximately 6500 square meters. The average lot for one bar is about 4 tsubo (about 14 square meters). When you open the narrow entrance to a bar, a somewhat bewitching and dense atmosphere prevails. While bar hopping, get tipsy in an atmosphere where the owner's tastes are pushed out by each store. Hopefully you will find your favorite bar.
