Your safari adventure with Zungu Travel begins this morning as your personal guide collects you from your lodge in Arusha. You’ll drive across the scenic Maasai plains toward Tarangire National Park, observing vibrant village life along the way, Maasai herders in traditional dress, grazing livestock, and charming rural scenes. In Tarangire, you'll enjoy your first game drive through a landscape rich with baobab trees, open savannah, and the seasonal swamps fed by the Tarangire River. This park is famed for its large elephant herds, and is home to zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, buffalo, and predators, including lions and leopards. As the sun sets, you’ll head to the stunning Burunge Baobab Tented Lodge located between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. Overlooking the Rift Valley escarpment and seasonal lake flats, the lodge offers a unique blend of comfort and wilderness. You'll enjoy a dip in the pool, a delicious dinner with sweeping views, and a restful night in your stylish tented suite.
After breakfast at Maramboi Tented Lodge, your safari continues with a drive to Lake Manyara National Park, about 120 km west of Arusha. This compact park is famous for its vast soda lake, home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species. On your game drive, expect to see baboons, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and, with luck, the unique tree-climbing lions resting in the acacia trees. The park’s diverse landscapes, from forests to open plains and baobab-studded cliffs, create a stunning wildlife backdrop. After the game drive, you'll relax at the elegant Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge, perched on a hilltop with spectacular views, luxurious rooms, and fine dining to end your day in comfort.
After breakfast at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge, your journey with Zungu Travel continues through the lush highlands and misty rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you may spot baboons, elephants, or even leopards. You'll pause to take in the stunning views of the Ngorongoro Crater before descending into the vast plains of the Serengeti. By midday, you’ll arrive in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s largest and most iconic wildlife haven, known for its sweeping savannahs, rocky kopjes, and seasonal rivers. You'll enjoy a thrilling afternoon game drive in search of big cats, elephants, giraffes, and much more. As the sun sets, you’ll head to the exclusive Nyota Luxury Camp for dinner and a serene overnight stay under the stars.
Today is dedicated to exploring the world-famous Serengeti National Park with Zungu Travel. Renowned for its vast plains and rich wildlife, the Serengeti hosts large herds of zebra, wildebeest, and antelopes, along with buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and more. Depending on the season, you may witness part of the Great Migration, one of nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles. The movement of animals follows the rains from the southern plains to the northern woodlands and back again. Throughout the day, keep your eyes open for the park’s legendary predators: lions, cheetahs, and elusive leopards, as they patrol their territory in the circle of life. After an unforgettable day in the wild, you'll return to Nyota Luxury Camp for dinner and a peaceful night on the endless plains.
After breakfast, you'll depart the Serengeti for the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, with a chance to spot the Big Five en route. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Crater is 600 meters deep and home to over 25,000 animals, offering unmatched game viewing. You’ll descend into the Crater before lunch for a thrilling safari across its lush floor. Expect to see zebras, wildebeest, elephants, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. If luck is on your side, you may even glimpse the endangered black rhino. In the late afternoon, you'll ascend to the rim and continue to the charming Kitela Lodge, nestled in the highlands. You'll enjoy a relaxing evening, dinner, and a restful overnight stay surrounded by coffee plantations and gardens.
After breakfast, your Zungu Travel driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar.
