    Hieizan Enryaku-ji Temple

Explore the Mount Hiei Enryakuji temple complex, a major center of Japanese Buddhist history. The temple area is spread across the mountain and involves walking, slopes, steps, and uneven surfaces. The standard itinerary normally focuses on the most practical section for the available tour time rather than attempting to cover the entire temple complex. Admission tickets are not included. A driver-guide can provide basic logistical and sightseeing assistance but is not a licensed temple guide and may not provide professional commentary inside the temple buildings. Viator also lists private Enryakuji experiences as off-the-beaten-path cultural tours centered on temples and shrines in Mount Hiei’s natural environment.
