• Step back in time at Nagan Eupseong, a living Joseon-era walled village.
• Wander through the magnificent Boseong Tea Fields, with rolling hills covered in bright green tea trees.
• Relax and feast with a pork barbecue by the seaside, enjoying the fresh ocean breeze with green tea.

    Nagan Eupseong Folk Village

Come and explore traditional Korea at Nagan Eupseong, a perfectly preserved Joseon-era walled town where people still live today—the only one of Korea’s three great walled towns that is still a living village! Wander along narrow dirt paths, admire thatched-roof houses and low stone walls, and take a walk on the fortress walls for a panoramic view of the village and the surrounding countryside. Let’s step back in time together, experience life in a living folk village, and see why this charming town is a favorite drama and film location.

    Nagan Eupseong Folk Village

Inside Nagan folk village, we can enjoy a cozy meal at a traditional-style tavern that brings the Joseon era to life, with comforting dishes such as noodles, bibimbap, beef rice soup or pancakes with Makgeolli(rice wine). If you’d like a more filling lunch, we can also try a regional cockle set meal at a nearby restaurant outside the fortress. Your lunch prices range from 10,000 KRW to 22,000 KRW, depending on your choice.

Boseong is a county in South Jeolla Province, famous for its perfect climate and soil for growing green tea with a distinct taste and aroma. It produces about 40% of Korea’s green tea, all grown organically, which is why it’s known as “the green tea capital of Korea.” Among the many tea farms here, “Daehan Dawon” is the iconic spot, loved for its huge size and magnificent rolling hills covered in green tea bushes. We’ll take a leisurely walk along scenic paths up to the observatory, enjoying the fresh air and incredible layered views. On a clear day, we can even see the ocean and nearby islands from the top. At the end of the visit, we’ll treat yourselves to green tea ice cream made from the farm’s finest tea leaves—a real must-try. This place is green all year round, and every season has its own special charm.

After exploring the green tea fields, we’ll head to a quiet beach near Yulpo for a relaxing seaside barbecue dinner. Boseong is famous for its green tea pork, a special local pork—leaner than regular pork, with a pleasantly chewy texture and almost no porky odor—and that’s exactly what we’ll grill by the shore. For vegetarians, we’ll prepare Korean-style vegetable pancakes right on the beach, and everyone can also enjoy a bowl of ramen noodles. During oyster season in winter, we’ll cozy up at a seaside restaurant and enjoy freshly grilled oysters with pork, the perfect way to stay warm. To finish off the evening, we’ll savor a cup of Boseong’s signature green tea while relaxing to the gentle sound of the waves.
