Embrace yourself for day filled with Viking ship and history.
This is truly an unique experience in the Viking ship harbor, Shipyard, and the ship wrecks, and tasting of Viking food, and Viking history.
You will have a professional museum guide. Whom will take you through the Vikings era, telling about society, raids, trade, seafaring all explained amongst the wrecks and outside in shipyard and reconstructed Viking Ships.
The tour includes a “Taste of the Vikings” food.
The museum Café has followed recipes and archaeological evidence and create a kind of buffet which allow you to taste food from the Viking era and of course taste the Vikings brew, mjod.(mjød).
There is of course time for you to enjoy the Viking Ship launch, almost like the Vikings themselves did, and in between a stroll around the entire museum.

- Entering the replicated Viking ship, walking on the pier, or in the shipyard is at its own risk for injury or loss or damage to clothing and personal items.

Meeting and pickup
ATTENTION; THE DISPLAYED PICKUP TIME IS FOR THE CENTRAL PICKUP POINT (in front of Hotel Astoria/Central Pickup Point). Individual hotel pickup is before this time!
Late bookings (30hours prior to tour start); Pickup will be The Central Pickup Point (in front of Hotel Astoria) at 0900 CET.
Please note that pickups are not possible at hotels without parking or private accommodations. Alternatively, we offer a central location near City Hall Square. If pickup cannot be arranged at your chosen accommodation, we'll suggest convenient alternatives.
IMPORTANT PICK-UP INFORMATION
Please note; that the pick-up time displayed (as 0900CET) is ONLY for the final pickup at Central Pickup Point.
The time and place for hotel pick-ups will be sent as an email, some 36 hours before the booked tour.
BE AWARE
- People in wheelchairs should not choose this tour. Cane users and users of walking frames and slow walkers can choose this tour. BUT, please be aware that wet cobblestones and wooden surfaces are slippery.
- Due to the setup for the museum guide and food-tasting a minimum of 10 participants is required. Less than 10 participants, will most likely mean the tour will be canceled.
