Scenic journey from Puerto Vallarta to the charming town of San Sebastián del Oeste. Our adventure begins with a convenient and comfortable pickup from your location, ensuring you start your day with ease. As we travel by car along the picturesque Jalisco Road 544, you'll enjoy a 1.5-hour drive through lush landscapes and breathtaking views. We'll make a quick stop half way at Las Palmas, Jalisco, so we can stretch out our legs and maybe even use the restrooms if you required to do so.
Along the way, we will pass through the quaint rural town of Las Palmas, Jalisco, for a quick restroom break, offering a glimpse of authentic local life and it's particular style of living in today's era, which once played a significant role in the economy of San Sebastián del Oeste as an Hacienda.
Our next stops along the way will be at the impressive Puente El Progreso. This historic bridge, surrounded by lush vegetation, is a marvel of engineering and a perfect spot for some fantastic photos. At this bridge, you’ll visit a local bakery and taste local bread and delicious coffee from the pot.
Tequila and Raicilla Tasting. A highlight of our tour is a visit to the Hacienda Don Lalin Distillery at the bridge El Progreso" where you’ll experience an authentic Tequila and Raicilla tasting. Discover the traditional methods used to produce these iconic Mexican spirits. You’ll learn about the distillation process, the differences between Tequila and Raicilla, and enjoy sampling the unique flavors of both. This tasting session provides a deeper appreciation for these beloved beverages and their cultural significance.
La Quinta Mary Coffee Farm. As we enter San Sebastián del Oeste, we’ll pass by the historic La Quinta Mary Coffee farm, which dates back to the 18th century. Here, you'll get a glimpse of the traditional coffee production methods and learn about the history of coffee cultivation in the region. The picturesque setting of the coffee farm, surrounded by lush greenery, adds a unique charm to our journey.
Lunch at El Comedor de Lupita. We'll indulge in a delicious lunch at El Comedor de Lupita before continuing our journey. Located at the straight bridge entrance of San Sebastián's main town, this restaurant offers an iconic hacienda-style Mexican meal based on miners' recipes. From fresh fish and shrimp to hearty fajitas and traditional corn tortillas, you’ll experience authentic flavors in a rustic, charming setting.
After lunch, our tour continues with a visit to the iconic Church of San Sebastián del Oeste. Admire its colonial architecture and learn about its significance as a cultural and religious center in the town. You’ll have time to explore the church and its surroundings, soaking in the spiritual atmosphere and capturing memorable photos.
Following our visit to the church, we’ll explore the craftsmanship of a real silver smith in the area. Discover the intricate artistry and traditional techniques used to create beautiful silver pieces, reflecting the town’s rich mining heritage.
To end, we’ll visit the Doña Conchita Encarnacion House/Museum, offering insights into the first residents of San Sebastián del Oeste and the original owners of the silver mines in the area.
