  Koeberg Nuclear Power Station is South Africa’s only nuclear power plant, located about 30 km north of Cape Town near Melkbosstrand. It is operated by Eskom and plays a key role in supplying stable, low-carbon electricity to the national grid. Commissioned in the mid-1980s, Koeberg has two pressurized water reactors (PWRs) with a combined capacity of about 1,860 megawatts.
