    The Basilica of San Domenico is located in the square of the same name in Arezzo and is one of the most important sacred buildings in the city. Its construction began in 1275 and was completed during the 14th century, thanks to the funding of the Ubertini and Tarlati families, the two most influential families during the Middle Ages in Arezzo. In January 1276, although still incomplete, the church hosted what is considered the first conclave in the history of the Catholic Church.
