The boat shed has been operating for over 100 years on the Otokia creek, this is the only boat rental business in Brighton Dunedin and the creek runs through the Otokia Marsh & Wetlands area, which is a natural oasis with birds and native trees that can only be accessed by boat. The row boats are able to carry a family of up to 2 adults and 3 children which makes it a great family activity.

Meeting and pickup
At the boat shed between 11-4pm Saturday and Sunday. The Boatshed is located in the centre of the Brighton township at 1044 Brighton road, next to the Brighton Cafe and the Brighton Store
What to expect
The Row Boats are capable of taking up to 2 adults and 3 children, (or up to 3 adults).
Perfect for family adventures, take turns at paddling using the oars and have a lot of fun learning how to steer the boat.
Up to 4 Row Boats available for group adventures.
Life jackets provided.
Additional info
- Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
- Service animals allowed
- Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap
- Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
- Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
