Waitangi Wharf, outside the Waitangi Yacht Club. You simply keep walking straight up the wharf until you come to the Waitangi Yacht Club building. We will be waiting outside the Building with a 'Bay of Islands Tours' sign.
You will enjoy a guided tour along a wooden boardwalk through a 200m limestone cave system, featuring stunning formations like giant stalactites and stalagmites formed over hundreds of thousands of years. As you are captivated by thousands of luminous glowworms illuminating the cavern's ceilings and walls, a local guide will explain the life cycle of the New Zealand glowworm, as well as the rich history and incredible culture that these caves hold!
Like nothing you've ever seen before, golden orbs perch on the grass tuft roof of this truly unique public washroom! Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser lived in Kawakawa from the mid-'70s to his death in 2000 and gifted the toilets to the town. Be warned - he didn't like using straight lines, so this might be one of the most fascinating designs you encounter!
Take a walk through Aotearoa New Zealand's history on an informative guided tour of the Treaty Grounds with one of their experienced local guides. You will also get to be part of an amazing Cultural Performance which includes an inspiring pōwhiri (welcome) that begins in front of Te Whare Rūnanga before moving inside. The immersive cultural performance includes waiata (songs), poi and a traditional haka (war dance). After the concert you will be able to meet the cultural performers to ask questions and take photos.
Visit the famous horseshoe waterfalls, Haruru Falls. These falls are located in a valley on the beautiful and peaceful Waitangi River.
