Start your adventure at El Salto de Malacatiupan, an extraordinary natural wonder where warm thermal waterfalls meet volcanic energy. The name Malacatiupán comes from Nahuat, traditionally interpreted as “round temple”, reflecting the sacred importance that Indigenous communities once gave to this site. What makes this place truly unique is the meeting of two rivers: • one river of hot, volcanic spring water, • and another of cold, fresh mountain water. The fusion of both creates the perfect warm temperature that visitors enjoy today. Immerse yourself in these mineral-rich waters known for their relaxing and healing properties, enjoy a refreshing dip, or simply unwind in a peaceful natural setting before continuing your journey.

2Concepcion de Ataco
Travel next to Ataco, one of the most vibrant cultural towns along El Salvador’s famous Flower Route.
