My tour will take you to an Iconic first stop built in 1888 the fabulous Hotel Del Coronado simply know as the Del is an incredible ocean front hotel. Next we visit beautiful Balboa Park with its lovely Spanish architecture built to celebrate the opening of the Panama Canal and lots of small houses from around the world. Now we drive south to visit the stunning coastline of La Jolla with its rugged beaches and seals basking in the sun. Time to head south and stop briefly to see the cliffs and surfers at Sunset Cliffs before reaching Cabrillo National Monument with the best views of San Diego. Our last stop will be in Old Town and you will have enough time to try the delicious Mexican food and have a Margarita before heading back to your hotel or the airport. If you want to spend less time in one place and more in another that’s perfectly fine. Can’t wait to show you America’s finest city, you’re going to love it!!!
Meeting point will start right outside the cruise terminal port on North Harbor Drive. If you wait beside the concrete barrier where you will see other cars I will pick you up. I can also pick up from your hotel downtown if that’s more convenient, please let me know. I also have enough room in my trunk for anyone who has a Walker. I have room for 2 walkers or a walker and a wheelchair. We can pick you up more than 5 miles from downtown San Diego for an additional fee.
Meet you to start the tour directly underneath the Little Italy sign on India street. It’s a huge blue sign so you can’t miss it.
Drive along Orange avenue and go inside the famous Hotel Del Coronado.
See botanical gardens and lovey Spanish architecture.
See sea lions basking in the sun in beautiful La Jolla.
See the beautiful cliffs and surfers at lovely sunset cliffs as we drive past.
We will drive past Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on the way to Cabrillo National Monument. Spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and sweeping views of the San Diego Bay. You will be able to see all of Downtown and across to Coronado Island. They have a visitor center, nice walking trail past the small lighthouse that you can climb and incredible views all around.
Stop off at Old Town Historic Park for a look around, it’s the birthplace of California and where in all began. You will see them making hand made tortillas outside Cafe Coyote on San Diego Avenue. Great place if you want to have some delicious Mexican food and a Margarita.
