The Hotel del Coronado, built in 1888 near San Diego, is a legendary National Historic Landmark and one of the last remaining wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world. Famous for hosting celebrities, presidents, and filming Some Like It Hot, the 28-acre beachfront property offers upscale dining, a spa, and iconic red-turreted architecture.
Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre historic urban cultural park in San Diego, California, founded in 1868. As the largest urban cultural park in the U.S., it hosts the renowned San Diego Zoo, over 17 museums, numerous gardens, and performing arts venues, attracting 14 million annual visitors.
The Children's Pool in La Jolla (850 Coast Blvd) is a scenic, seawall-protected beach famous for its year-round harbor seal colony. While designed for swimming, it is now primarily a viewing spot for seals and sea lions. Note that the beach is closed to the public annually from December 15 through May 15 for seal pupping season.
