Mount Ararat (5,137m) is one of the world's most iconic peaks the legendary resting place of Noah's Ark, rising above the borders of Turkey, Armenia, and Iran.
This 5-day guided expedition is led by experienced local guides with hundreds of summits, supported by mules for equipment carry and including a dedicated acclimatization day to maximize your summit chances. Your journey begins and ends at Hotel Kenan, Doğubayazıt.

Meeting point

All participants must arrive in Doğubayazıt one day before the tour. A mandatory pre-climb briefing will be held at Hotel Kenan on the evening of arrival, covering equipment, safety, route details, and team introductions.

Itinerary

    Day 1 — Meeting Point & Trek to Base Camp (3,200m) Meet at Hotel Kenan, Doğubayazıt. Depart by vehicle to Çevirme Village (2,200m). Trek 7km through volcanic terrain to our Base Camp at 3,200m with tents, kitchen, and dining area ready. Dinner with Ararat plateau views.

    Day 2 — Acclimatization Start your second day with a 6km round trip hike from Base Camp (3,200m) up to 4,200m the most important step in preparing your body for the summit. At 4,200m, we rest for approximately 1 hour at the rim of one of Mount Ararat's two great canyons a dramatic natural feature offering sweeping views into the gorge below, with Little Ararat visible beyond in the distance. The area is a rugged, rocky terrain shaped by ancient volcanic activity, adding to the raw and untamed character of the landscape. We then descend back to Base Camp for dinner and a well-deserved rest ahead of the days to come.

    Day 3 — Climb to High Camp (4,200m) Ascend to our High Camp at 4,200m. Check summit equipment with your guide, early dinner, and rest summit push begins at midnight. Important: You must arrive at the meeting point (Hotel Kenan, Doğubayazıt) the day before Day 1 to join the expedition.

    Day 4 — Summit Day (5,137m) & Descent Depart midnight. Climb snow and glacier slopes for 6 hours to the 5,137m summit at sunrise views into Armenia, Iran, and Azerbaijan. Descend to High Camp for a 1-hour rest, then continue to Base Camp (3,200m).

    Day 5 — Descent & Return to Meeting Point Hike to Çevirme Village (2,200m) in 3 hours. Vehicle transfer back to Hotel Kenan, Doğubayazıt expedition ends.
