What to expect

Your adventure begins early in the morning with a comfortable hotel pickup in Zanzibar and a short scenic flight to Mafia Island. After landing, you’ll meet your local marine team and receive a safety briefing, snorkeling gear, and guidance on how to interact responsibly with whale sharks.

You’ll then head out by boat into the open ocean to search for whale sharks in their natural environment. When they are spotted, you’ll enter the water in small groups to swim and snorkel alongside these gentle giants, enjoying plenty of time to observe and take photos while following ethical guidelines.

After the swim, you’ll return to shore to relax and enjoy a freshly prepared local lunch. Later, you’ll visit the famous flying foxes and, if time allows, explore Kilindoni Town to experience island life. In the afternoon, you’ll fly back to Zanzibar and be transferred to your hotel.
