I understand that traveling with kids can be great...and sometimes also a little tiring. That's why I've created this Treasure Hunt History Tour designed for the whole family! Explore Berlin's rich history while keeping everyone engaged.
On this tour we make Berlin’s complicated history accessible for the whole family. We explore the city’s most iconic sites (the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, The Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie) with stories and interactive activities tailored to your children’s ages.
These tours are designed so that children and adults experience Berlin together. Every tour is private, so we tailor the stories, activities, and pace to your family on the day. Whether you’re 8 or 80, we make my tours as fun and engaging as possible!
Your guide will be waiting for you in front of Madame Tussauds on the Unter den Linden. Your guide will have an orange umbrella and a name tag. If you have trouble finding your guide on the day, you can call them directly with the phone number provided on your ticket.
The tour will end at Checkpoint Charlie. Your guide can provide directions to elsewhere and food recommendations.
Learn about Berlin's most famous hotel and the people who have stayed there. Count the embassies and understand why this is Berlin's diplomatic heart.
See the Brandenburg Gate and learn about its 250 year history. Hear why the middle archway is slightly wider than the rest...and get to know about some of the Kings in Prussia.
At the Reichstag we break down 20th century politics in Germany to look at the communists and Nazis, understanding how they were different and how the Nazis managed to rise into power.
Gain a deeper understanding of the holocaust and what happened during WWII in a family-friendly way. We don't shy away from the facts, but ensure the memorial is suitable for everyone.
Visit an ordinary carpark...where some not so ordinary things happened. Underneath the carpark lie the remains of the Fuhrer Bunker, or Hitler's Bunker. Hear about the end of WWII and the command centre for the final few months of the Third Reich.
Hear how life was different in East Germany when the country was divided. See the 17th June Uprising memorial to learn about how the social ideals of communisms didn't quite match the reality.
Learn how the Berlin Wall was built overnight, yes overnight, and hear thrilling stories of how people tried to escape.
The site of one of the most tense confrontations between East and West, learn how Checkpoint Charlie was nearly the beginning of WW3.
Now a memorial to the victims of Nazi crimes, the Topography of Terror also has a part of the Berlin Wall. Hear thrilling stories of escapes, as people tried to leave the Soviet satellite state.
