Your journey begins with a morning domestic flight from Addis Ababa to Gondar. From there, drive 100km north to Debark to register at the park headquarters. Continue to the Sankaber area (3,100m) and enjoy a 2 to 3-hour acclimatization hike along the spectacular escarpment, where you'll have your first encounters with the endemic Gelada Baboons.
Trek along the Northern escarpment with fantastic views. You will pass the impressive Jinbar Waterfall and cross the Jinbar River. After a short ascent, you reach your campsite at Geech (3,600m). In the evening, there is an optional walk to Mount Kedadit (3,760m) to watch an unforgettable sunset.
Hike to the summit of Imet Gogo (3,926m), one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the park offering 360-degree views of the canyons. The trail then winds through valleys filled with Giant Lobelia to reach Chennek camp (3,620m). This is the best place to spot the endangered Walia Ibex and the rare Ethiopian Wolf.
A challenging trekking day begins with a tough 2-hour ascent to the top of the Bwahit pass (4,200m), offering stunning views of Ras Dashen. Descend through the rural village of Chiro Leba and the Mesheha River valley, then climb up to Ambiko campsite to rest before your summit attempt.
Summit day! Start before dawn for the challenging 1,000m climb to the peak of Ras Dashen (4,550m). Enjoy incredible morning views over the rugged ranges before returning down the same route to Ambiko camp for a well-deserved rest.
Retrace your path westwards toward Chiro-Leba, enjoying the changing light and different perspectives of the massive valleys. Your vehicles will meet you to drive out of the national park and back to the city of Gondar for a comfortable hotel stay.
Take a domestic flight back to Addis Ababa. Depending on your schedule, enjoy some free time for artifact shopping. The tour concludes with a traditional farewell dinner at a cultural restaurant featuring live music and dancing, followed by a transfer to the airport.
