Our tour isn't just about tasting delicious dishes; it's a journey filled with insights into why Croatian cuisine is so intertwined with our heritage. Along the way, we'll visit significant Zagreb landmarks, each with its own story to share and try a variety of traditional foods... and hopefully, my personal touch will as well enhance your experience, for just a little bit.
Dear all we will meet In front of the horseman statue at King's Tomislav Square
The tour ends on Josip ban Jelačić's square, the main Zagreb's square
Our tour will start at King Tomislav Square. The reason for this is that it is also where the railway station is located, symbolizing travel, arrivals and departures, the merging of cultures, and the beginning of tourism. There, we will start our discussion about table culture, culinary habits, and Croatian dishes. And we will also have something to eat - on the go.
Zrinjevac is one of the most beautiful parks in Zagreb, reserved for relaxation by the locals. Additionally, it is historically significant as a fairground. There, we will continue our discussion about the flavors of Croatia and prepare for the next snack
In Petrinjska Street, you will get to know some more Croatian flavors in Heritage snack bar
Then we will pass through Ban Jelačić Square, also known as the main square of Zagreb. We will explain its historical significance, as well as that of Ban Jelačić.
After that, we will head to Dolac, the famous Zagreb market, where I will introduce you to the 'kumice' (local women sellers) and their products. We will discuss Croatian food customs, shopping habits, and weaknesses.
Our next stop will be a tavern dedicated to the Zagreb table, where we will taste specific dishes characteristic of our region, share them and get to know croatian cuisine even better
Afterwards, we will head to the most beautiful church in the city, the cathedral. Its majesty will tell us some historical stories and interesting facts
At the end of the tour, we will sweeten our taste buds with the currently most famous štrukli in the city, and don't worry, there will be space for it because sweetness goes straight to the heart.
On our way back to Ban Jelačić Square, we'll stroll through the charming and lively Radićeva Street, which will narrate some stories of Zagreb's pastry-making
Finally, we'll return to Ban Josip Jelačić Square and wrap up our gathering
