All available tours, except those outside the city, follow the main tourist routes, the busiest spots, and the usual sightseeing zones. I want to show guests parts of the city that are still in the center, but have a much stronger local vibe. That’s the mission and vision behind this tour – for guests to taste traditional food, the flavors of our childhood, and to truly experience the local spirit.
We'll meet on the little square above Dolac market, right in front of the artisan bakery 'Salo'. You'll spot the Irish pub Harat's there too.
The tour ends at Kvatrić Market, just 4 tram stops from the main square (Ban Josip Jelačić Square).
Right here, in the very heart of the city, you'll find Zagreb's main market – Dolac. Our mission? To grab a snack at Salo, like viška pogača, soparnik or salenjak, share the story of our pantry, and help you understand the Croatian mindset through food and culture. This vibrant open-air market has been the city's pantry for over 90 years and it’s the perfect spot to begin exploring daily life in Zagreb and to learn what locals eat – and why.
Our second stop is the Cathedral – the most beautiful building in Zagreb, scarred time and again. Her turbulent past is a fascinating story you simply have to hear.
Next, we’ll head towards European Square, where we’ll sample another piece of Croatian heritage and enjoy a sip of something local.
Here, you’ll discover the roots of Croatian fast food – and try some good old-style seafood, the kind locals still enjoy
Our walk takes us to Martićeva Street, one of the most beloved areas among locals near the city center. Along Martićeva, we’ll pause a few times – maybe for an ice cream, a pancake, or some other sweets Croatians love. We’ll sip coffee and bite into stories of beloved local brands, restaurants, cafés, street art, and historical landmarks.
The walk ends at Kvatrić Market – a favorite among locals for its great selection and affordable prices. And don’t worry – we’ll enjoy some traditional-style dishes and local products there as well.
