This 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga dunes offers an unforgettable journey through Morocco’s most iconic landscapes and cultural sites.
Travel across the Atlas Mountains, crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass, before visiting the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its historic architecture and film appearances. Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert,” with time to explore the city and its cinema heritage, before reaching the Dades Valley, where you spend the first night.
On the second day, continue through Tinghir to discover the impressive Todgha Gorges, surrounded by palm groves and dramatic canyon walls. The journey then leads to Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert, where you enjoy a camel ride at sunset across the golden dunes. Spend the night in a Berber desert camp, in a private tent with an en-suite bathroom, and experience traditional hospitality under the stars.

Arrive in the Dades Valley in the late afternoon. Enjoy time to admire the dramatic landscapes, rock formations, and valley views before settling into your accommodation for the night.
Depart from the Dades Valley towards Tinghir, arriving at the impressive Todgha Gorges, known for their towering canyon walls and palm oasis surroundings. Enjoy time to walk through the gorge, take photos, and learn about the natural geology and local life in the area.
Continue the journey towards Merzouga, located at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, prepare for your desert experience, enjoy the first views of the golden dunes, and meet the local team before heading into the desert.
Wake up early to enjoy a peaceful sunrise over the Sahara dunes. Watch the colors of the desert change as the sun rises above the sand dunes, offering a memorable final moment in the desert before departing.
After breakfast at the desert camp, begin the return journey to Marrakech. Travel through desert landscapes, valleys, and the High Atlas Mountains, with short stops along the way for breaks and panoramic views, before arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening.
