    Kawazu Sakura No Genmoku

It is said that the original Kawazu-zakura tree was planted in 1955 by Katsumi Iida, who happened to find a budding cherry seedling along the Kawazu River and planted it in his garden. The trunk of the original tree was about 115 cm in circumference, and it is said to be about 60 to 70 years old. The sight of many flowers blooming in a ball-like mass is sure to soothe the viewer.

    Kawazuzakura Festival

This festival is held for about a month, coinciding with the blooming of the Kawazu cherry trees. Visitors can enjoy the Japanese cherry blossoms while viewing the cherry blossoms at the stalls and other stands. Since rape blossoms also bloom at the same time, visitors can enjoy the contrast of pink and yellow. Soak in a footbath (a hot spring where you can soak only your feet) and experience the Japanese spring a little earlier than usual.
