    Noboribetsu Jigokudani Valley

    Jigokudani or "Hell Valley" is a spectacular, appropriately named valley just above the town of Noboribetsu Onsen, which shows hot steam vents, sulfurous streams and other volcanic activity. It is a main source of Noboribetsu's hot spring waters. There are beautiful walking trails through the wooded hills above Noboribetsu. If you follow them for about 20 to 30 minutes, you will get to Oyunuma, a sulfurous pond with a surface temperature of 50 degrees Celsius and a smaller, even hotter, mud pond nearby. The best season in Noboribetsu is in autumn and the valley offers spectacular scenery.

    Here is the highlight of this tour, enjoy hot spring. You can enjoy about 35 types of baths. Sulfur spring has a strong acidity with a hydrogen ion concentration of 2.4. Because of its high acidity, it has a strong bactericidal effect against various bacteria, and the sulfur it contains is effective against skin diseases. Glauber's salt spring has been used since ancient times as a "bath for wounds" and "bath for palsy." With a hydrogen ion concentration of 2.2, it is the most acidic hot spring of ours, etc...
