Day 1
Discover Okinawa’s Identity: Ryukyu Heritage & the Blue Sea

Begin your Okinawa journey at Naha Airport, where you will meet your National Government Licensed Guide and fellow travelers at 11:45 AM. After a short introduction, board a private vehicle and head toward Shuri, the former royal capital. This first transfer marks the shift from arrival logistics into the story of Okinawa itself.

Shurijo Castle
Start with the place that best explains Okinawa’s identity as the former Ryukyu Kingdom. Shuri Castle was the political and cultural heart of the kingdom, and its reconstructed Seiden Main Hall reopens to the public on November 23, 2026—shortly before this tour. Explore the castle area with your guide and discover how Ryukyu history, architecture, and overseas exchange shaped the Okinawa you will encounter over the next four days.

After exploring Okinawa’s royal history, meet another force that has shaped island life: the sea. At Busena Marine Park, descend into the Underwater Observatory and look through windows about 5 meters below the surface at coral reefs and colorful subtropical fish. It is a memorable way to experience Okinawa’s marine environment without swimming or snorkeling before continuing north to Nago.

Arrive in Nago, your base for the first two nights, and settle into the slower rhythm of northern Okinawa. After hotel check-in and a short break, enjoy a welcome dinner with the group. The evening is intentionally relaxed so you can recharge before the E-bike journey begins the following morning.
Day 2
Ride Northern Okinawa: Coastlines, Island Life & Traditional Culture

Nago
Begin the E-bike portion of the journey in Nago at 8:30 AM. After a short walk from the hotel, meet your cycling guide and E-bike in the Nago area for an individual bike fitting, safety briefing, and introduction to the bike’s controls and assistance settings. A gentle warm-up ride toward 21st Century Forest Park helps you practice starting, stopping, turning, and handling the bike before the longer ride to Sesoko Island begins.

Experience northern Okinawa from the saddle on a relaxed 17-km E-bike ride toward Sesoko Island. Follow the west coast at an easy pace, pausing at Yamairibata Beach and Sakimotobu Green Space for scenery and a short break. Sesoko Island gradually comes into view before the ride’s rewarding finale: crossing the 762-meter Sesoko Bridge under your own power and arriving on the island for lunch. Distance: approximately 17 km

Pause on Sesoko Island for a leisurely lunch after completing the morning’s main ride. Refuel, relax, and enjoy the island atmosphere after crossing Sesoko Bridge before getting back on the E-bike for a shorter afternoon ride toward the Ocean Expo Park area.

Okinawa Memorial Park Ocean Expo Park
Set out again by E-bike for approximately 6.7 km toward the Ocean Expo Park area. This shorter second ride keeps the day flowing at a relaxed pace, leaving the island scenery behind and carrying you toward a deeper look at traditional Okinawan life rather than simply transferring between attractions. Move from the royal world of Shuri to the everyday life of old Okinawa. The Native Okinawan Village recreates a Ryukyu-era settlement with traditional homes, raised granaries, sacred spaces, and wells. Explore the village with your guide and, subject to local program availability, try the sanshin, Okinawa’s traditional three-stringed instrument. The stop adds the perspective of ordinary village life to the history introduced on Day 1.

Bise no Fukugi Tree Road
Finish the day’s E-bike riding with a short, easy ride to Bise, then slow down on foot beneath its famous fukugi trees. These dense trees were traditionally planted around homes as windbreaks against Okinawa’s typhoons and salty coastal winds. Walking the shaded lanes reveals how generations of island communities adapted their homes and villages to the subtropical environment.

Give your legs a break after roughly 25 km of E-bike riding and return to Nago by local bus while the bikes are transported separately by the support team. Enjoy some free time before dinner to relax at the hotel or spend a little more time around Nago after a full day of coastal riding and cultural discovery.

Back to your hotel. Enjoy some free time before dinner. End the day around the table with another side of Okinawan culture: its food and hospitality. Enjoy a dinner featuring local vegetables and Agu pork shabu-shabu in a traditional-style setting, giving you time to relax and share impressions from the day’s E-bike rides and village experiences.

Ride to Kouri Island: Heritage, Ocean & Living Culture

Nakijin Castle Ruins
Before there was a unified Ryukyu Kingdom, northern Okinawa had its own center of power. Nakijin Castle was the stronghold of Hokuzan, one of three rival kingdoms that competed for control of Okinawa before unification. Walk among its impressive stone walls with your guide, then begin the day’s E-bike ride through the same northern landscape once watched over from this fortress.

Kouri Ohashi
This is the journey’s signature E-bike ride. Cycle approximately 15 km from the Nakijin area toward Kouri Island, with a short scenic and refreshment stop along the way where you can look ahead toward your destination. The ride culminates in crossing the roughly 2-km Kouri Bridge surrounded by open sea views—an experience that feels very different from simply passing over the bridge inside a vehicle. Arrive on Kouri Island and take time to refuel after the morning ride. Enjoy lunch at Kouri Island Station Sorahashi and choose what you would like to eat. The break also marks a transition in the day: from experiencing Okinawa’s beautiful sea to thinking about what it takes to protect that environment for the future.

Marine Plastic Upcycling Workshop After seeing Okinawa’s blue sea from the saddle, discover another side of its marine story. At TRUE BLUE OKINAWA, learn how marine plastic collected from Okinawa’s shores is transformed into something new. Create your own keepsake—such as a keychain or accessory—while considering how everyday choices connect to the future of the ocean you have been exploring throughout the journey.

End the cultural journey with a tradition that is still performed and passed down today. Eisa is an Okinawan performing art associated with the lunar Bon season and honoring ancestors. Visit the paid exhibition area of the Eisa Museum to explore its history through videos, costumes, instruments, and interactive displays before continuing south to Naha.

Continue south by private vehicle to Naha and arrive at your hotel in Okinawa.

Return to central Naha for a farewell dinner and look back on Okinawa from several perspectives: royal history, village life, coastal landscapes, E-bike journeys, local food, environmental challenges, and living performing arts. A live sanshin element may be included, subject to final arrangements. After dinner, stay at Hotel JAL City Naha on Kokusai-dori.

Day 4
Your Journey Continues: Free Day in Okinawa or Beyond

Naha (Pass by)
Day 4 is intentionally left open so you can continue your trip at your own pace. Enjoy breakfast at Hotel JAL City Naha before checking out and concluding the main tour. From here, continue exploring Okinawa independently or travel onward elsewhere in Japan. Additional accommodation, domestic flights, private airport transfers, and private guided tours can be arranged separately if you would like to extend your journey.
