    Day 1

    Dorze village weaving,visit Arbaminchi spring

    Dorze Village

    Departure to Arba Minch at 07:10, arriving at 08:15. Our team will pick you up from the airport. Transfer to the lodging, followed by breakfast and check-in. Afterward, we’ll drive to the Dorze village, located high in the Gughe Mountains. Here, you’ll see the traditional Dorze beehive-shaped huts, some of the most visually striking architectural structures. The Dorze people are also known for their weaving of traditional clothing and vibrant dancing. After Dorze visit,

    Arba Minch

    we’ll drive back to Arba Minch for a late lunch. In the late afternoon, we’ll take you to Arba Minch Forest Park for a short walk in the beautiful jungle. Make a city tour in the town Dinner will be served at the hotel Overnight Paradise Lodge, Arba Minch.

    Chamo Lake crocodile Market

    Chamo Lake

    In the morning, after an early breakfast, we’ll drive down to Lake Chamo for a boat trip to visit the “crocodile market” (a local name for a spot on the lake; no buying or selling takes place). Here, we’ll see hippos, some of Africa’s largest crocodiles, and various bird species.

    Konso Cultural Centre

    we’ll drive to Konso for a lunch break, followed by a visit to Konso Village. Here, we’ll explore one of the 9 UNESCO-registered villages. The Konso people are known for erecting stones and poles called “generation poles,” which are raised every 18 years to mark the start of a new generation. The age of the village can be determined by the number of standing poles.

    Turmi band drive to kara village

    Turmi

    the morning, after breakfast, we’ll drive to Kara Village. The Kara are a small tribe with an estimated population of around 3,000, living along the east banks of the Omo River. The Kara are known for their beautiful, large villages near the Omo River and for the children who paint their faces and bodies.

    After the visit, we’ll drive back to Turmi for a lunch break (approximately a 3-hour drive round trip). In the afternoon, if we’re lucky, we might witness the unique bull-jumping ceremony, a rite of passage where a boy becomes a “man” after proving his ability to jump and walk over 5 to 13 cattle standing in a row. The day may also include a special event where close female family members show their appreciation for the groom’s family by allowing the Maza (man’s) to whip them with a stick, a ritual that symbolizes their love and loyalty to the family. If there is no bull-jumping ceremony, we will visit a Hamer village in the afternoon.

    Desanechi village and jinka

    Dassenech Village

    In the morning after breakfast drive to Omorate, here you will cross the great Omo river to visit Dassanech tribe village. Note: Please bring your passports for this trip, as Omorate is a border town with Kenya, and we’ll need to show your passport and entry stamp to immigration.

    Turmi

    drive back to Turmi (a 3-hour round trip). In Turmi, we’ll check out, have a lunch break, and then drive to Jinka (approximately a 2.5-hour drive). If you’re not too tired, we’ll visit the Jinka Museum or an Ari tribe village in the late afternoon.

    Mursi and Ari tribes

    Early in the morning, after breakfast, we’ll drive through Mago National Park to visit the Mursi village, located in the Lower Omo Valley. The women of this tribe are known for the large clay plates they wear in their lips as decoration, while the men are recognized for the intricate patterns they paint on their bodies. After visiting the Mursi, we’ll drive back to Jinka for lunch (approximately a 3-hour round trip). After lunch, we’ll depart for Addis at 14:05, arriving at 15:25. This will mark the end of the adventure.

    Mursi Village

    visitor who wants to go to the Mursi people will enter the Mago National Park. Although it is not the main goal of most visitors the park offers good game-viewing opportunities. Don’t expect the same wildlife encounters as in traditional safari destinations in East and Southern Africa though. A typical drive into the park to a Mursi village will bring many Guenter’s dik-diks and a few olive baboons or guereza black and white colobus monkeys and an occasional greater or lesser kudu and defassa waterbuck.
