You will be able to walk in the habitat of different mammals that inhabit our forests, such as the puma, tapir, mountain goat, among others. Our abundant vegetation will dazzle you and with luck you will have the experience of walking among the clouds. All this accompanied by expert guides who will ensure an unforgettable experience.
We are located in the mountains of Coronado, San José, just 50 minutes from the center of the capital.

You can choose a pickup location at checkout (multiple pickup locations are available).
Pickup details:

Travelers should take an Uber or taxi to Parque Francia, Barrio Escalante, San Jose and wait for our properly identified transportation. Our off-road vehicles will pick you up there to take you to the Iral Cloud Forest and back to the same point. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes. They should arrive 1 hour before the set time. To arrange private transfers to hotels or other locations, contact El Iral directly.

From San Jose downtown: head to coronado. From the Church of Coronado, 10km towards Cascajal. From the cheesemaker Pichi 5km east on calle Iglesias.

What to expect

We start with the transfer from Parque Francia in Barrio Escalante, San José or the Iral Bosque Nuboso in Coronado, we continue with the registration and specifications of the activity at our reception.

We will introduce you to your assigned guide and the adventure will begin.

You can enjoy our facilities, we are located 2,200 meters above sea level and in the heart of the cloud forest, we are home to many endemic species, which make it a unique place for bird watching.

Some of the most important species that can be observed are: Wrentrush, Black-billed Nightingale Thrush, Long-tailed Silky Flycatcher, Buffy Tufted Cheek, Costa Rican Pygmy-Owl, Golden-Browed Chlorophonia, Emerald Toucanet, many hummingbird species, as well as the iconic Quetzal.

We will enjoy a delicious lunch in our scenic restaurant and then we will start returning to the meeting point.
