Pickup details:

From Chaltén we must travel 1:30 hours by vehicle to the desert lake area, from there the path to the refuge begins. If travelers have a vehicle, the meeting can be coordinated in the parking lot.

Take gravel route 41 towards Desert Lake from Chalten. The meeting point is located 38 km from Chaitén

End point
This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

On day 1 from the parking lot we went up to the Domos Crestón shelter along a 40-minute trail to spend a warm night in the Patagonian beech forest.
On day two early in the morning we begin the journey to the Creston glacier to do an ice climbing activity. This day lasts 7 hours round trip to the Creston parking lot.
