What to expect

During this immersive cooking experience at Kathmandu Cooking Academy, you’ll begin with a warm welcome and a traditional cup of Nepali Masala Tea. Then, with guidance from a local chef, you'll take a short market or shop visit to pick up fresh ingredients essential for Nepali dishes. Back at the academy, you’ll learn step-by-step how to prepare three authentic Nepali dishes — one entrée, one main course, and one dessert — selected from a diverse traditional menu. Of course, momo-making is a highlight, and you’ll get hands-on experience crafting Nepal’s most beloved dumplings, either vegetarian or chicken.

Throughout the class, you’ll use traditional utensils and learn the cultural background and cooking techniques behind each dish. After cooking, enjoy a relaxed tasting session where you can savor the food you’ve prepared. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced cook, this class offers a rich cultural exchange and a fun, engaging way to explore Nepal through its cuisine.
