The first point on our way to the lake is Chyiyrchyk Pass, where you can enjoy an amazing view of the Alay Mountains and breathe in the fresh air.
Your next stop will be at Gejige village, where you can see colorful landscapes in the local geopark zone. These are still part of the Alay Mountains.
Taldyk Pass is almost 3,400 meters above sea level, and it is one of the most beautiful mountain passes in the region. Its fresh winds and snow-capped white peaks will leave you impressed.
You will pass through Sary-Tash village, where the road splits in two directions: one toward Tajikistan and the other toward China. From this point, you will see both the Pamir and Alay mountain ranges. You will be amazed by the beauty of the valley.
Sary-Mogol is the most tourist-friendly village in this valley. You can stop here to meet local people and children, and see how happy they are without mobile phones or other influences of modern civilization. You can also stop to buy something from the local shop.
In the second half of the day, you will reach the yurt camp next to Tulpar Lake. You will be accommodated in a yurt and have free time to explore the surroundings. You can take a walk around the lake, enjoying a beautiful view of the Pamir Mountains.
In the morning, just after breakfast, you will start a hike to the base camp. It usually takes 3–5 hours, depending on how high you want to go. During the hike, you’ll experience the life of local nomads and see the alpinists' base camp. You might also spot red marmots and alpine flowers such as edelweiss. After crossing the base camp, you can reach the "Onion Field," located at an altitude of 4,200 meters, where you’ll find memorial plaques dedicated to former alpinists. If you feel comfortable going higher, you can continue climbing to "Travellers' Pass," which stands at 4,800 meters. By noon, you will return to the camp and have lunch in a yurt. In the afternoon, you will drive back to Osh city, arriving before evening.
