In this program, you will be allowed to enter the “tsukeba”counter, where you are not normally allowed, and learn how to make sushi one-on-one from an experienced chef, giving you the feeling of being a real sushi chef. After the sushi-making experience, you can relax and enjoy the chef's omakase sushi course in the refined atmosphere of the restaurant. This is a unique program that allows you to experience both sushi making and “omakase” at the same time.

Find the signboard of ‘NISHIKIMACHI’ . The entrance to the sushi restaurant is at the end of a narrow passageway on the side of the NISHIKIMACHI building.

What to expect

Learn the history of sushi from an experienced sushi chef in the historic city of Dazaifu, Fukuoka, and get a crash course in sushi making. You will dress up as a sushi chef and enter a real sushi restaurant kitchen, where you will have a one-on-one sushi lesson from the chef. First, the chef will show you how to make nigiri, and then you will actually make it yourself. After you have made one or two pieces of sushi, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the chef's sushi in a relaxed atmosphere. It will be served 'omakase' style, with the chef preparing and serving the best fish of the day in front of you, depending on the season. For those who wish to enjoy sake with their sushi, a sake comparison is also available (extra charge). At the end of the tour, you will receive a certificate of participation and snap a commemorative photo. This two-hour program will be an experience that will add color to your Fukuoka trip.
