    Castle of Good Hope

    Our first Luxury City tour begins at a unique tourist attraction with the combination of both cultural and military history of South Africa, the military ceremonies and exhibitions await you at the Castle of Good Hope. The castle was built between 1666 and 1679 and it is the oldest existing colonial building in South Africa. Here you are going to experience the dungeons, dolphin pool, blacksmith, canon fire, horse and carriage rides, and above all the tranquil atmosphere of the Castle of Good Hope.

This Slave Lodge housed slaves who worked for the Dutch East India Company (VOC) and they were never sold up until some of them were old and couldn't do the work. Here you will get a brief history about slavery in South Africa, when it began, the lives of slaves, as well as when and why it was abolished.

Soon after the slaves were allowed to buy the houses they painted them with different bright colors as an expression of their freedom. we will have our stop in this historical and heritage site of Cape Town known as Bo-Kaap. The tour guide will allow you to take some Instagram photos along the colourful houses. Bo-Kaap was once known as an area where South Africans were oppressed in the form of slavery, it is today regarded as a sign or symbol of freedom.
