For decades Salt Lick Safari Lodge has been one of Kenya’s flagship lodges, famed for being among the World’s Most Photographed Lodges. A favorite amongst travelers in search of luxury accommodation, Salt Lick Safari Lodge is a luxurious safari escape set in the heart of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary overlooking a waterhole and the vast Tsavo plains.

The neighboring Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa has a museum that displays some of the World War 1 memorabilia as part of the rich history of Taita Taveta County.

Early morning and late afternoon game drive around Salt Lick Safari Lodge provide an ideal opportunity to view and photograph the diverse array of wildlife within the Sanctuary.

The waterholes below provide a wonderful opportunity to view animals at close proximity in their natural habitat.

We will pay for the Taita Hill Sanctuary entrance fees

Accomodation: we pay for your saltlick 1 night accommodation, since its all inclusive in the package
Meals are all inclusive, lunch and dinner on day one, breakfast and lunch on the second day.
This is a private safari, so we use a private car all through your safari, no group joining or sharing cars
We don't buy drinks like alcohol to our clients since its not part of the package

What to expect

Day 1
You will be picked up from your beach hotel in the early morning hours and depart by road to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. You will enjoy an amazing game drive along the way. Upon arrival at Taita Hills Lodge, you will have lunch, relax for a while and then head out for a game drive in the sanctuary searching for lion and other wildlife, until sunset.

You will then return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay at Salt Lick Lodge or taita hills lodge or similar. This lodge is especially memorable for its imaginative structure. A complex of rondavel sit on stilts over a series of water holes. These two-story towers, topped by peaked thatch roofs connected by open-air-bridges, create an African fantasy of a medieval fortress. The lodge has been built with game viewing in mind. The structure provides you will a panoramic view of the sanctuary; offering spectacular views of the landscape and wildlife.

Dinner and overnight at salt lick lodge or Taita hills lodge.

Day 2: Enjoy an early morning breakfast and then depart for a half day game drive. Around noon you will depart for Mombasa, taking part in a game drive and lunch along the way. This is where your safari will end.
