The Sorrento Coast is a jagged promontory that shores up the southern end of the Bay of Naples. This peninsula of hilly terrain ends abruptly at a cliff that plunges sheerly down to the Mediterranean sea. The entire coastline around Sorrento was a Greek colony during the period of Magna Grecia, the legendary site of Homer's sirens, before being conquered by the Romans who enjoyed the area as a summer playground. It has maintained a reputation as an exclusive resort destination ever since. It boasts a mild climate, gorgeous panoramas and citrus-scented air. From the Sorrento Coast, views sweep along the bay to Naples, Mount Vesuvius and across the water to the island of Capri. Sunset is especially stunning from the point of Massa Lubrense, Faro, or one of the coves below the cliffs on the promontory's edge. On the Sorrento coast you'll find tucked-away bays, deep gorges, sandy sunbathing spots and hilltop hamlets.
The Baths of the Queen Joan are located on the promontory of Punta Capo in Sorrento, to be precise they are located on the coast of the Protected Marine Area of Punta Campanella. It is a magnificent natural swimming pool just a few steps from the center of Sorrento, a small natural oasis. The Baths are also an archaeological site characterized by history and nature, the remains of the villa of Pollio Felice are surrounded by a crazy sea and crystal clear water.
The place has all the characteristics of the typical fishing village of southern Italy: houses perched on each other connected by stairs and walks, restaurants on the sea and a small marina, where you can rent boats for excursions along the coast, to Capri and/ or Amalfi Coast. An exceptional and little known place, suggestive at dawn and sunset thanks to its glimpses, immersed among the lemon groves and shrubs typical of the Mediterranean scrub.
Punta Campanella is the extreme tip of the Sorrento peninsula. In front there is only the sea and the island of Capri. A place on the border between land and sea, which since ancient times has been covered with a sacred aura. Here Ulysses met the sirens and had a temple erected to the goddess Minerva who had protected his journey.
In front of the Sorrento peninsula, in the Gulf of Naples, there is a pearl famous all over the world: the island of Capri, known for its beauties and for its mundane atmospheres that have made writers, artists and characters of the show fall in love. Do not miss the chance to visit the island via land by yourselves and to explore the inner beauties this magic place can offer
Immerse yourself in a luxury experience living the Dolce Vita and shopping among the most fashionable shops of the moment.
It is the most famous attraction of Capri. People from all over the world come to see it, even for a few minutes. At its entrance long queues form. It is the Blue Cave: 25 meters wide and 60 meters long with an entrance less than one meter high. To enter you must lie on the bottom of a rowing boat that slides through the small arch. Inside you find yourself floating in the dark, on a water so blue to seem transparent.
Think about Capri. The first image that comes to mind is surely that of the Faraglioni: three peaks of rock rising from the sea a few meters from the coast. Each Faraglione has a name: the first one united to the land is called Stella, the second, separated from the first by a stretch of sea, Faraglione di Mezzo and the third Faraglione di Fuori or Scopolo, that is cape or promontory on the sea.
The bay of Marina Piccola is the right place to go if you are looking for a beach with views of the Faraglioni. During the summer, the bay is filled with elegant yachts anchored in front of the Faraglioni, which offer a unique spectacle even at night thanks to the evocative play of lights of the boats. Marina Piccola is located on the south side of the island, protected behind by a steep rock wall: for this it is always warm and poorly ventilated.
