A Big Five Safari Tour is the perfect Mother City escape after a morning of Cape Town views and activities. After a hot day in the Karoo veld, the animals are just starting to stir, moving towards the watering holes and coming out of the shade.
Aquila’s traditional vehicle safaris are led by experienced game rangers and field guides, ensuring guests have the best opportunity to see South Africa’s iconic Big Five animals and other native wildlife species. Your safari guide will take you through Aquila’s 10 000 hectare wildlife reserve, sharing inside stories and facts about the natural Karoo environment.

    Guide will collect everyone from their accommodations within 5km radius in Cape Town. You will get your pickup time day before via email and WhatsApp. Once guide has collected everyone from their accommodations then we will proceed with tour.

    We'll embark on a scenic 2-hour drive along the N1 to the stunning Aquila Game Reserve.

    Upon arrival at Aquila Game Reserve, you'll be greeted with a refreshing welcome drink. Then process for a delightful buffet lunch with options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests. Then after lunch join a thrilling 2.5-hour shared game drive in an open truck or 4x4, where you'll have the chance to spot the Big 5 - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo - as well as other incredible animals like giraffe, zebra, and hippo.
