This trail wraps the City’s real medieval history in a playful alchemical metaphor. Yes, there really was a Dick Whittington! You’ll find him in all seven stages of alchemy and, in the process, discover the City’s ancient heart still beating behind all that steel and glass.

You’ll start at Tower Hill and pass through places most Londoners have never noticed: secret gardens, lost guilds, ancient hallways and royal residences.

It’s part treasure hunt, part fever dream, and entirely grounded in the City’s medieval streets.

You won’t need a guide — the trail is embedded in the stone and shadow.

Clues are embedded in the city itself — coats of arms, carvings, architectural details, and epigraphs. You’ll unlock verses, codes, and fragments of a buried past, one stage at a time.
