Discover Mavrovo National Park, the largest in the Balkans, where bears and lynxes roam freely amid dramatic peaks, clear lakes, deep canyons, and dense forests. Shepherds have long brought their flocks here to escape the summer heat, and you may spot them along the way.
High in the mountains, take scenic walks across Mavrovo National Park’s open plateaus, if lucky, meet local shepherds, and all their animals. Experience nature in its purest form.
On the way back, you can stop for lunch at the traditional House of the Miyaks (not included) before visiting Bigorski Monastery, the largest in Macedonia. This medieval complex remains an active spiritual center, home to over 30 monks devoted entirely to faith and prayer.
This day is all about nature and culture, with scenic walks and astonishing cultural landmarks and plenty of photo stops, where you can make picture to share on social media. During the tour, our guide will explain about all the particularities of the tour.

North-Macedonia is known for the amount of monasteries and churches. Only in the city of Ohrid, you can find a whopping 365 monasteries and churches. But this white and isolated monastery is the most prestigious of the whole country! From the outside it's astonishing, but the inside is full of icons, wall paintings and it households the biggest and finest wood-carved iconostases of the world. It's located in the heart of Mavrovo, the biggest national Park of the Balkan region. Here you will see many monks that devote their whole life for Christianity. While walking around our guide will provide you with all the details about the ancient mysteries that lay here.
On the way back, we’ll make two photostops: the first near Debar with stunning views of Mavrovo National Park, and the second near Globocica, overlooking a beautiful artificial lake surrounded by lush green mountains. This place is perfect for making pictures for sharing on social media.
