After pick-up, you’ll be transferred to the trailhead for a guided hike on Galicica Mountain, the natural boundary between Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa and one of North Macedonia’s most stunning national parks. Known for its rich biodiversity and vast landscapes, Galicica is home to the country’s highest peak, Magaro (2,254 m).

The hike starts along forested slopes and is led by an experienced mountain guide. Along the way, you’ll discover diverse flora and fauna and enjoy spectacular viewpoints overlooking Lake Ohrid, nearly 500 meters below. The route passes through three traditional mountain villages, offering insight into local life and how residents historically survived the region’s harsh winters.

After about 2 hours and 3 km of scenic hiking, you’ll reach a secluded beach accessible only by boat. Relax on your private sun bed (included), swim in the lake, or enjoy lunch at the beachside restaurant (at your own expense) before returning. Don’t forget your swimwear and towel.

We will pick you up at your accommodation or close to your accommodation when located in Ohrid, Pestani and all the places in between.

Please wait 10 minutes before pick-up time outside on the main road of the pickup point or accommodation. We will provide your valid pickup time via WhatsApp within 24 hours!

In case we don't stop in front of your accommodation, we kindly ask to check our 12 pickup points around Ohrid up until Pestani, because these are a walking distance of almost every accommodation there is!

The transportation could be in a car or van, this depends on the number of participants.

PS: Guests of Inex Olgica will be picked up in front of the entrance of hotel.

    Hike and experience the flora and fauna of this place under the guidance of a mountain expert. During this hike there are many opportunities to admire the amazing view over Lake Ohrid, which is currently 500 meters lower. The walk continues along 3 traditional mountain villages, where you will learn the stories about the survival of the residents during the harsh cold of winter. Encounter abended homes and remaining villagers, while making your way down. In total you will cross 2 kilometers in your own tempo.
