The Pilate Caves represent one of the most fascinating archaeological sites on the island of Ponza, a perfect combination of Roman engineering, mystery and natural beauty. This underground and underwater complex, dating back to the first century AD.C., consists of five caves dug into the tuff, connected by underwater tunnels and an outdoor pool. Located south-east of the port, under the Madonna hill and the Ponza cemetery, the Pilate Caves are accessible exclusively by sea, making them a must-see destination for those visiting the island.
Chiaia di Luna is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and suggestive beaches on the island of Ponza. Located along the southwest coast, this bay enchants visitors with its crescent shape, the high white and yellow tuff cliffs that surround it and the crystal clear waters that lap the shore. The name itself, “Chiaia di Luna”, comes from the Neapolitan dialect: "chiaia" means "beach" and "moon" recalls the arched shape of the bay.
Cala Feola is one of the few sandy beaches on the island of Ponza, located in the resort of Le Forna. Protected by white tuff cliffs and surrounded by unspoilt nature, this bay offers a peaceful and relaxing environment, ideal for those seeking a break from the city chaos. The shallow and sandy seabed makes Cala Feola particularly suitable for families with children and those who want to swim in calm and clear waters.
Cala Felce is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches on the island of Ponza, located on the northeastern coast and accessible only by sea. This bay takes its name from the ferns that adorn the surrounding landscape, offering a natural and wild environment that enchants every visitor.
’Arco Naturale di Ponza is one of the most iconic symbols of the island and one of the most photographed natural wonders of the Pontine archipelago. Located along the east coast of the island, this imposing limestone stack rises about 30 meters above sea level and has an opening of about 7 meters, wide enough to allow the passage of small and medium-sized boats. Also known locally as “Chop-Splitter” or “Chop-Splitter” — names that evoke its shape similar to a giant pair of pants — the Natural Arch is the result of millennia of marine erosion, which have carved the tufa rock into a structure as fragile as it is majestic.
Lucia Rosa Beach in Ponza is a charming cove, accessible only by sea, famous for its crystal clear waters and the romantic legend that surrounds it. The beach is characterized by clear sand and pebbles, bathed by a sea that varies from turquoise to blue, with indigo shades. The imposing cliffs overlooking the sea and the stacks of Maria Rosa complete the breathtaking landscape.
