This is a practical workshop, accessible and fun for beginners.
You will be surprised by the history, uses and techniques you will learn during this introduction to Castanets workshop.

I will wait for you underneath the Arco de la Macarena. The Arco is a monument worth visiting and it provides shade on hot days.

This activity ends back at the meeting point.
What to expect
From an easy to find meeting point you will be accompanied to the studio, only a few minutes away on foot but on the way you will see interesting monuments and chat with your castanet teacher.
During the Introduction to Castanets Workshop, you will learn about the specific characteristics, the history and use of this unique instrument.
You will practice basic techniques. This practical workshop will be accessible and fun for beginners. We will even perform some basic castanet percussion with accompanying music!
At the end of the workshop you will be treated to a short demonstration on the use of castanets with dance!
The teacher will provide good quality castanets for you to use during the workshop. If you fall in love with them, the purchase of the instrument is not included in the price of the activity!
