Åndalsnes is the Norwegian Hub of Mountain sports. Tindecenter near the cruise pier is a climbing center and museum, which was build in 2016 for climbing enthusiasts.
This chapel is located in an old, discarded railroad carriage, opened in 2003.
The special mountain formation Romsdalshorn is 1550 m high. You will get to know the special history of the first climbers and also what you can find inside the mountain.
The Troll Wall is Europe's highest vertical mountain wall. According to myth, it is actually a fossilized troll. But don't worry, in daylight you won't see the Trolls walking around. Otherwise they will be transformed to stone, what has happened here according the the myth. You will get to know this history on the tour and can admire the Troll Wall on a 15 minutes photo stop.
- please note: Trollstigen-Road has been closed since June 2024. Re-opening unknown. The impressive Trollstigen Road with it's 11 bends will bring you up to the Top of Trollstigen plateau 800 m over sea level. Here you can admire the architecture of the Visitor Center with its water fountain and small bridges. Or If you need even more adrenaline, watch the traffic spectacle from the ramp towering 200m above the Trollstigen.
