Abades is a local village on the east coast of the island, away from the tourist area. This makes it a quiet area, with a quiet, sandy, natural beach. Since fishing is forbidden here and there isn´t much movement at the surface, like swimmers and boat traffic, the ocean here is full of life which you´ll find close to shore.
Our dive spots are easily accessible from this beach, which we find a minute walk away from our dive center.
If you'd like to eat or drink anything after your dive, you´ll find small restaurants with outside terraces and a supermarket directly on the cozy square in front of our center.
Non-divers will enjoy the beach or snorkeling spots.

Meeting and pickup
If you would like to be picked up on your day of diving, please let us know where you would like to be picked up from and we´ll inform you what time we´ll be there. We offer a transportation service on the south / west /east coast of the island. Would you like family / friends to come to Abades beach without joining the activity? Please let us know, we`ll reserve them a seat at our minivan for an additional cost of €20
Meeting Point will be at the entrance of Divecenter Zeus in Abades
What to expect
Upon arriving at the dive center, you will be provided with your new outfit, including a wetsuit, scuba tank, dive jacket, and regulator. Even though your instructor can do everything for you while underwater, he or she will explain how the equipment works and how we should behave underneath the surface.
You will then be transported to another world, accessible directly from the beach, and experience how it feels to breathe underwater. You will also discover what it feels like to be completely weightless, as once you have donned your scuba tank and descended into the ocean, that is precisely how you will feel.
During your dive adventure you´ll explore our beautiful, vulcanic house reef. You might see sleeping octopus and be followed by schools of inquisitive fish of a huge variety of shapes, colors, and sizes, like trumpetfish, parrotfish, rays, and starfish. Who knows, you might see a seahorse or come face-to-face with a turtle.

- An official medical clearance is needed to join a dive in case a traveller uses any kind of medication and / or has any medical condition
- Flying is not allowed within 18 hours after your dive
- Reaching heights over 400 meters above sealevel is not allowed within 12 hours after your dive
