What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Our workshop takes place at Bağımsız Sanat Vakfı, a beautifully restored Ottoman-era art school on Ankara Caddesi. Look for the historic pink building. Your instructor will be waiting at the entrance to welcome you.
What to expect
Begin with an informative presentation about the rich heritage of these vibrant lamps and their significance in Turkish culture. Then, under the guidance of skilled artisans, you'll create your own masterpiece.
Learn to apply a geometric template to a glass sphere, then bring it to life using over 45 different colored mosaic stones and glass beads. As your creation sets, relax with a cup of Turkish tea or coffee and fresh-baked cookies. During this break, your guide will share insights about Istanbul's famous landmarks and hidden treasures.
Once your lamp is dry, you'll assemble the final pieces. At the end of the workshop, you'll take home your beautiful, handcrafted mosaic lamp in a protective bag.
