Our 2-day adventure begins with a quick stop at the iconic Tunnel Rock in Sequoia National Park. This giant granite boulder once formed a natural tunnel over the roadway and is now a popular scenic landmark. We spend about 15 minutes here, giving travelers time to walk under the massive rock, take unique photos, and enjoy the surrounding mountain scenery.
Next, we stop at the Giant Forest Museum / Visitor Center for about 20 minutes. This is a great place for travelers to learn the story of the giant sequoias through exhibits on their ecology, history, and the role of fire in the forest. Guests can browse souvenirs, pick up maps, talk with park rangers, or simply enjoy a quick break before we continue deeper into Sequoia National Park. It’s an informative and convenient stop that adds context to everything you’ll see on the trip.
Our next stop is the famous Tunnel Log, a massive fallen sequoia with a carved opening that allows vehicles to drive right through the tree. We spend about 15 minutes here so travelers can take photos, walk around the tree, and appreciate its impressive size. It’s a fun and iconic Sequoia experience—perfect for memorable pictures before we continue exploring the park.
Next, we visit the spectacular Moro Rock, one of the most famous viewpoints in Sequoia National Park. Travelers can climb a series of around 300 stone steps built along the granite ridge, leading to a stunning summit viewpoint. From the top, you’ll enjoy sweeping 360° panoramas of the Sierra Nevada mountains, deep canyons, and endless forest landscapes. Whether you choose to go all the way up or just enjoy the views from the lower platforms, Moro Rock is a breathtaking highlight of the trip
Our next stop is the legendary General Sherman Tree, the largest tree in the world by volume. We take a scenic walk down to the grove, giving travelers plenty of time to admire this ancient giant and capture unforgettable photos. Standing beside a tree over 275 feet tall is an experience you’ll never forget. Depending on traveler preferences and available time, we can also take the optional Congress Trail hike. This beautiful loop winds through some of the most impressive sequoia groves in the park, including dense clusters of massive trees and quieter forest sections perfect for photos and peaceful exploration. After visiting the General Sherman Tree we begin our drive toward Yosemite National Park. Travelers will need to book a hotel near or inside Yosemite park for the night in advance, and we’re happy to provide recommendations for convenient and comfortable lodging near the park entrance. The following morning, we start fresh right next to Yosemite National Park.
After breakfast, we begin our Yosemite adventure with a stop at the breathtaking Tunnel View, one of the most famous overlooks in the entire national park. From this viewpoint, travelers can capture stunning panoramic photos of Yosemite Valley, including El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Fall—all in one incredible scene. It’s the perfect introduction to Yosemite and a must-see photo spot that sets the tone for the day’s exploration.
Our next stop is the beautiful Bridalveil Fall, one of Yosemite’s signature waterfalls. We stay here for about 30 minutes, giving travelers time to take the short, easy walk to the viewpoint and feel the refreshing mist as the water plunges 620 feet down the cliff. It’s a great spot for photos, close-up waterfall views, and experiencing the power of Yosemite’s natural beauty.
Next, we stop for a relaxing walk at El Capitan Meadow, located at the base of Yosemite’s most famous granite monolith. This peaceful, open meadow offers some of the best ground-level views of El Capitan, rising over 3,000 feet straight up from the valley floor. Travelers can stroll along the meadow, enjoy the quiet scenery, and watch for rock climbers scaling the massive cliff. It’s a calm, scenic break that lets you fully appreciate the scale and majesty of Yosemite Valley.
Our next stop is a 15-minute visit to one of Yosemite’s best viewpoints for seeing the iconic Half Dome. From this spot, travelers can capture clear, unobstructed photos of the park’s most recognizable granite peak. It’s a short but memorable stop, perfect for taking stunning landscape shots before we continue exploring Yosemite Valley
Next, we arrive at Yosemite Village, where travelers have about 2 hours of free time to explore the heart of Yosemite Valley. Guests can choose to walk with our guide or explore independently, enjoying the scenic trails and iconic sights nearby. A short walk from the village leads to Lower Yosemite Fall, an easy and rewarding path to see this magnificent waterfall up close. While strolling through the area, it’s common to spot deer and other wildlife, adding a touch of magic to the experience. This stop provides a perfect combination of relaxation, exploration, and unforgettable photo opportunities.
Our last stop in Yosemite is Valley View on Northside Drive, where we spend about 15 minutes taking in and photographing one of the park’s most iconic vistas. From this viewpoint, travelers can enjoy sweeping views of El Capitan, the Merced River, and the surrounding valley, capturing a perfect final memory of Yosemite. After this scenic stop, we begin our drive back to Los Angeles, concluding the unforgettable 2-day adventure through Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks.
