In Galatina visit one of the most beautiful Basilicas of Puglia famous for the Giotto style's Frescoes (Santa Caterina d'Alessandria).
At 1 PM we will get a private Taxi (INCLUDED) from Galatina to Lecce(20 mins ride).

After one hour bike ride (18km) through the Lecce countryside sorrounded by Olive trees and magestic Masserias we will arrive in Sternatia! Sternatia is one of the nine towns of "Grecìa Salentina" where the greek dialect Griko is still spoken. Here we will have a guided tour (30 mins) of an ancient underground Olive oil mill (Frantoio Ipogeo). Our local Guide (Gaetano) will enlighten us to his Greek heritage and tell us a Poem in Greeko language.

After 40 mins bike (10 km) ride welcome to Galatina! Here we visit at “The Basilica di Santa Caterina d’Alessandria” which is a real treasure of art and ancient times, This church safeguards magnificent frescoes (Giotto's school) and merges together different architectural styles- from the Roman, to the Gothic, to the Norman and Byzantine style. In Galatina you visit Pasticceria Ascalone were the first Pasticciotto (Traditional Pastry) was made back in 1740. After we have 30 mins free time in galatina before catching the train back to Lecce at 12:58.
