This is a serious, reservation-based Northern Lights chase designed for travelers who want the highest possible effort, not a standard sightseeing stop. With a strict max of 8 guests, we move faster, stay flexible, and access remote micro-locations that larger groups cannot reach.
Your guide builds the route using live satellite data, wind direction, cloud models, and on-ground reports from the Arctic aurora network. We target up to six different locations across fjords, mountains, inland valleys, and—when the weather demands it—cross into Finland at no extra cost.
You receive full-resolution aurora portraits with no watermark or upsell, hotel and Airbnb pickup within 5 km of Tromsø, and a comfort-focused experience with warm drinks, snacks, and camp setups when conditions allow.
This tour stands out because it is built for results: precision routing, real chase strategy, small-group mobility, and honest communication. If you want a premium, expert-led aurora night—not a bus tour

Pickup in Tromsø: Your evening begins with a smooth pickup from your accommodation in Tromsø. We collect guests from hotels, Airbnbs, cruise port and Tromsø Airport, within a 5 km radius of the city center. Pickup starts 30 minutes before your tour’s departure time. To keep everything efficient in winter conditions, we coordinate the exact pickup time and location via WhatsApp on the day of your tour. If weather or road conditions require a different meeting point for a faster chase, we will guide you through the change in the same chat. Our goal is simple: a seamless, stress-free start so you can focus on the night ahead and we can begin the chase without delays.
1. Coastal or Fjord Region (First Location) After pickup, we head toward the coastline or nearby fjords to check for early cloud gaps. These areas often clear first as the weather shifts. Your guide evaluates wind direction, satellite data, and live road-camera feeds to decide if this region offers the first viewing opportunity of the night.
2. Mountain Corridor (Second Location) If coastal conditions remain unstable, we continue inland toward the mountain corridors. These valleys and ridges often create micro-clearings where aurora can appear even when Tromsø is fully covered. We stop for visibility checks, sky assessment, and optional tripod setup.
Deep Inland Valleys (Third Location) Our next destination is deeper inland, where colder, drier air provides some of the most reliable Aurora windows in the region. Here you’ll enjoy warm drinks, snacks, and your first professional photo session. Your guide will demonstrate how to capture the lights on your own camera if conditions allow.
4. Finland Route (Fourth Location — When Required) If Norwegian conditions are fully clouded or satellite layers show clearer skies further east, we continue the chase into Finnish Lapland. This cross-border route is included in your tour at no extra cost. The shift into Finland often delivers stable, cloud-free skies. Remember to bring your passport.
5. Secondary Finland Stop / Inland Plateau (Fifth Location) Once in Finland or on the eastern inland plateau, we pause for a longer session if the sky opens fully. Here we set up a small, comfortable camp, take additional portraits, and give you time to enjoy the silence and the colors above. This is typically the most rewarding stop of the night.
6. Return Route Micro-Stops (Sixth Location) On the drive back toward Tromsø, we remain alert to any new gaps or late-night aurora bursts. Your guide will make additional stops wherever the sky opens again to maximize your chances for a final viewing or additional photos before returning to the city.
Return to Tromsø We drive you safely back to your accommodation within the 5 km radius. Return time varies based on conditions and distance traveled during the chase.
