    Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib commemorates the 1675 martyrdom of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, who was beheaded on the orders of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in Chandni Chowk for refusing to convert to Islam. The gurudwara was built by Sikh leader Baghel Singh in 1783 at the exact site of his execution, which he chose to defend the religious freedom of Kashmiri Pandits.
