Brief History of The Pyramid as a Communist Museum and its transformation into a modern Cultural and Innovation Hub
The Grand Park of Tirana, with its artificial lake, is a lush retreat in the heart of Albania's capital. Once a grazing area for Vlach shepherds, it has transformed into a key recreational and cultural spot. The lake, created in 1955 through community effort, and the park's layout, envisioned by architect Valentina Pistoli, now host memorials, an amphitheater, and the city's only zoo. Covering over 1.5 million square meters, it's the largest green space in Tirana, enhancing the city's landscape and microclimate. The park is rich in biodiversity, featuring a variety of trees, shrubs, birds, and other wildlife. Managed by the Agency of Parks and Recreation since 2015, it offers a range of activities and is a beloved urban oasis for residents and visitors alike.
