The trek begins from Lukla. You take a short scenic flight from Kathmandu and reach Lukla, where you meet with the rest of the crew members. From here, you follow the Dudh Koshi River and descend through the forested paths to reach Phakding.
Leaving Phakding behind, you trek and reach Monjo. The trail from here goes through Sagarmatha National Park, which is home to numerous wildlife and flowers. You cross many streams and small villages. The trail steeply descends to Namche Bazar.
Before moving further towards Tengboche, you spend a day at Namche Bazar exploring around and acclimatizing to the altitude. You will go on a short excursion to Syangboche Airstrip or Everest View Hotel from where you can see stunning views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Thamserku, etc. Likewise, you also visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery.
The trail gradually ascends through dense forests of rhododendrons. You pass by Imja Khola before reaching Tengboche village. Here, you will get to explore the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region, the Tengboche monastery. From the back of the monastery, you can see spectacular views of snow-capped mountains.
The trail ascends and crosses many suspension bridges. Trekking through small settlement areas like Pangboche and Orsho, you move towards Dingboche. On the way, you come across many stupas, Chortens, and mani walls. Dingboche welcomes you with tempting views of Everest and surrounding peaks.
Today, you will take a day's break and adjust your body to the elevation. You will go on a hike to Nagarjun Hill from where you can see wonderful views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Thamserku, Pumori, etc. Later, you descend back to the village and spend time interacting with the locals.
Leaving Dingboche behind, you gradually ascend through small villages. As you move further, the terrain changes from lush forests to sparsely dotted shrubs. The trail takes you to Lobuche villages situated at the foot of Mt. Lobuche. You can see a stunning view of Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Pumori, and Mt. Khumbutse from this village.
Today, you wake up early in the morning and begin trekking toward Everest Base Camp. The trail passes through Gorka Shep, which is the last human settlement area on the trail. This place was the initial base camp of Mt. Everest. From Gorak Shep onwards, the trail moves along the Khumbu glacier moraine and leads you to EBC. Upon reaching the base camp, you will find yourself surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan mountains all around you. After spending some time at the Everest Base Camp, you descend to Gorak Shep for a night's stay.
To add more adventure to the journey, you hike up to the Kala Patthar today. It is a very famous viewpoint from where you can see 360-degree views of Everest. Located just above the EBC, the trail to Kala Patthar is steep and rugged. Likewise, you get to see a glorious sunrise from the top of the Kala Patthar. After soaking in mesmerizing views, you gradually descend following the same path and reach Pheriche.
After having breakfast, you trek through dense forests and small villages. Following the Imja River, you reach Tengboche and descend to Phungki Thanka. The trail then drops down to Namche through lush forests. On the way, you get to see amazing views of the Himalayan mountains.
You retrace the path and move towards Lukla. From Namche Bazar, the trail descends through dense forests, crossing numerous streams. On the way, you pass by many small villages. You reach Phakding and ascend to Lukla.
This is the last day of the trek. You take another thrilling flight back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching the airport, you move to the hotel. In the evening, you will say goodbye to everyone over farewell dinner and also prepare to leave.
